Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Overnight Console Operator I in Indianapolis, Indiana
Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Operates the mainframe and IBM-I console systems.
Monitors the batch cycles using our consoles and batch scheduling systems.
Responds to job failures and uses our problem tracking system to make teams aware of issues.
Works with the various Mainframe and IBM-I Systems Development teams to facilitate corrective measure for failed batch processes.
Knowledge and Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Trade school or college training in Information Systems concepts is preferred.
2 years previous experience as a computer operator.
Requires the ability to maintain current knowledge sufficient to allow the operator to function in a multi-system environment.
Requires the ability to work and adjust schedules during fluctuating periods of work pressure and in meeting established deadlines.
Must be able to work with changing conditions dictated by system failure or workload.
Requires current knowledge of computer operating procedures and standards, as well as familiarity with PC usage.
Must be a positive influence in establishing, developing, and maintaining professional working relationships with internal and external customers using effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially.
Incumbent will work Wednesday-Friday 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM
