Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Network Services Engineer III in Indianapolis, Indiana
Description
The Network Services Engineer is responsible for tier 2 and tier 3 technical support for the data and voice network software and hardware solutions. They troubleshoot and configure switches, routers, phones, wiring, load balancing, firewall, network management and other data/voice technologies. They are required to have good customer service skills along with a logical understanding of routing for problem diagnosis and resolution.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides data network troubleshooting by using network protocol analysis tools.
Implements, diagnoses, and troubleshoots technologies.
Supports the network infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.
Plans, develops, operates, maintains, and evolves enterprise network resources.
Utilizes intelligent network management tools to isolate problems or improve network performance.
Minimum Knowledge and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
10 years of experience as a Network Engineer or something similar.
Must possess skillset to architect, design, implement, and manage new technologies to incorporate within the environment.
Ability to create and develop 5-year plans with budget considerations to maintain and enhance the network to meet current and future business needs.
Strong analytical skills with focus on security.
Ability to lead, guide, train, and mentor team members.
Must possess or quickly acquire technical and administrative knowledge of data or voice equipment systems of the Company’s such wireless network, cloud networking, firewall, etc.
Must be able to develop the skills to test, install, maintain, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Must be skilled in attentive and active listening; must have patience to hear people out and accurately restating the comments of others.
Must have tact, diplomacy, and ability to maintain composure in handling internal and external clients and in everyday job responsibilities.
Ability to maintain and develop accurate documentation.
Ability to implement strategic network and security designs following industry best practices.
Ability to ensure maintenance of current network and making upgrades or adjustments as needed.
Must possess a high level of skill, knowledge, and accountability enabling them to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to be flexible and adaptable in working with various individuals during emotional and conflicting situations by establishing and maintaining effective relationships and gaining trust and respect.
