Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Life Actuary Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Independently leading and mentoring junior team members.

  • Developing actuarial models to support financial projections and analysis.

  • Leading a portion of quarterly/monthly valuation to support financial reporting through both development and analysis.

  • Reviewing and conducting pricing of life insurance products.

  • Assisting in all phases of product development.

  • Ensuring service level standards by adequately training employees and providing continuous professional development opportunities.

Requirements for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the life actuarial field.

  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

  • Experience in both Microsoft Office and AXIS technologies.

  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries status, or an experienced ASA committed to working towards the FSA designation

  • Ability to build trust with employees, make decisions in ambiguous situations, and display leadership qualities.

  • Ability to stay abreast of regulatory changes, evolving actuarial theory and practice.

  • Understanding of life insurance products, and financial statements with excellent mathematical, problem-solving, and strong analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability in conflict management and proven success working under pressure, meeting strict deadlines, and prioritizing multiple projects.

  • Ability to monitor, coach, and measure employee work performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise judgment in making decisions and communicating these effectively.
