Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Building Engineer / HVAC / Electrical Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana
Description
Responsibilities:
Maintaining and repairing major building systems, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Coordinating and supervising contractors modifying, repairing, or replacing, components of major building systems and equipment.
Negotiating and evaluating estimates, bid proposals, service specifications, and expectations to recommend contract rewards for outside services on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Communicating with internal and external partners to resolve problems when a solution is not readily identifiable.
Developing and maintaining strong vendor and contractor relations.
Identifying areas of improvement in the operation and repair of building infrastructures to provide to the Building Operations Manager.
Configuring building systems to seasonal requirements.
Utilizing building automation systems.
Creating work orders as needed for contracted equipment, system repairs, and replacement.
Maintaining proper documentation for infrastructure compliance and standard operating procedures for equipment start-up, shutdown, and preventative maintenance.
Requirements for Success:
An associate's degree or certificate in an electrical or a mechanical related field.
5-8 years of specialized experience with electrical, and mechanical control systems in construction or maintenance.
Experience managing vendors and contractors in the maintenance or service industry.
Experience with an HVAC control system and building automation and/or installation.
Advanced and extensive experience with specialized building systems and knowledge of tools and testing equipment typically used in the industry.
Understanding of the tools and other equipment needed to install and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC and Electrical.
Ability to work independently and on a team without direct supervision.
Ability to pursue work with energy and drive, especially in the face of resistance or setbacks.
Working knowledge of CMMS Systems and Building Automation Systems.
