Description
Responsibilities:
Providing actuarial support on projects and in the development of new products.
Assists in policyholder tax compliance.
Calculates, summarizes, validates, and reviews financial reports.
Develops, validates, runs, and reviews systems and reports.
Performs statistical experience studies.
Calculates, reviews and determines loading factors for valuations systems.
Reviews profit, reviews and calculates actual experience differing from expected financial results.
Develops, maintain, and update databases and spreadsheets to validate results for consistency and explain deviations.
Engages in continuing education and professional development to remain current with regulatory changes and evolving actuarial theory and practice. Represents department on project teams.
Requirements for Success:
Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent, bachelor’s degree, and/or designation(s) in business or health, preferred.
5 years of experience and be an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
Excellent mathematical, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Effective utilization of computer systems for essential job functions, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and simultaneously on multiple long-term and short-term projects.
Willingness to obtain a thorough understanding of the Company’s contracts and quickly acquire an understanding of the Company’s personnel policies, general company organization, and operation goals.
Ability to create and develop working relationships with internal and external partners to ensure prompt and efficient service.
Proven success working under pressure, meeting strict deadlines, and remaining confidential.
Taking and passing the Society of Actuaries exams with the goal of Fellow designation.
