We are looking for a  Manager of Investment & Tax Accounting to provide the Investment Department with all aspects of accounting and reporting functions to facilitate the management of Company Assets. This role is also responsible for developing and setting the tax strategy of the company.

The  Manager of Investment & Tax Accounting will be responsible for tax, investment accounting, and assists with cash management for all insurance companies and subsidiaries including integrating cash management and tax strategy into the broader company-wide strategies.

 We are looking for someone that can:

  • Work closely with the Investment department supporting analysis of investment portfolios, tax strategies, NAIC regulations, and statutory accounting. Ensure sufficient daily liquidity required by all entities to meet short-term cash needs while maximizing yield on surplus funds.
  • Managerial oversight of federal, state and municipal income and premium tax return filings. Ensure tax accounting is reflected in management and statutory financial reporting. Provide a strategic review of current and anticipated tax regulations and their potential impact on the organization
  • Oversee daily cash positioning activities, including managing daily liquidity, cash position reconciliation. Work to improve the cash flow forecasting process including gathering and analyzing cash flow related information from all sources within the organization
  • Integrate cash management imperatives into broader, company-wide strategies
  • Provides training and support to personnel in the detection and recognition of suspicious fraudulent activities.


 Requirements

 Do you have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, a CPA designation and at least 2-3 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax.
  • Experience with accounting for investment portfolios and investment reporting ideally with an insurance company
  • Experience leading, directing and developing a team
  • The ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Experience working cross functionally to reduce operational risk by automating processes and driving efficiency.
